Monday Night Football – Ravens @ Jaguars

Ravens @ Jaguars (+11.5, 40)

(4-1) Baltimore Ravens led by Ray Lewis head into Jacksonville to take on the (1-5) Jaguars.  Blaine Gabbert gets another start under center where he has thrown for 717 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT’s.  The last time these two teams met in 2008 Baltimore won 27-7.

The Baltimore Ravens sit fifth in the league averaging 29.6 points per game with the versatile RB Ray Rice rushing for 398 yards, 302 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. Joe Flacco has been inconsistent on the season but did throw for over 300 yards in last week’s win over the Texans.  Look for Ray Rice to have a big game with Jacksonville really struggling to stop the run.

For many years the heart and soul of Baltimore has been it’s defense and this year is no exception.  Many feel that Baltimore has aged on the defensive side of the ball but they still rank top 3 in points allowed, total yards and running yards.  Jacksonville ranks 9th in total defense and passing defense.

If Blaine Gabbert gets rattled early by the Baltimore defense, which typically comes out fired up, it may be a long night for Jacksonville.  Gabbert has shown some poise for a rookie but he has yet to face Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense.

Jacksonville was able to hang around Pittsburgh last week and almost pull the upset but Pittsburgh is not the same Pittsburgh team that went to the Super Bowl last year.  Look for the Ravens to pull and way and win confidently rolling to their 5th win on the season.
