Monday Night Football Guide: Packers vs Seahawks

After an exciting and surprising Sunday of NFL football with numerous top teams going down, we have an interesting Monday Night football matchup with Green Bay traveling to Seattle.

Both teams enter Monday night with a 1-1 record with the books pegging Green Bay as -3.5 point favorites with the Over/Under set at 44.

Green Bay is 0-4 away from home on Monday Night Football but 3-0-2 last 5 meetings vs Seattle.  The Packers bounced back last week with a win over Chicago after losing it’s opening weekend game vs the 49ers.  Seattle also lost it’s opening weekend game to a tough Arizona team only to rebound last week beating Dallas 27-7 at home.

The past four meetings the Total has gone over 3 times.  We all know the Packers can be a high powered offense and their defense is susceptible to big plays.  The surprise has been Russell Wilson the rookie QB for Seattle.  Pete Carol doesn’t ask him to win the game through the air but manage the game and let RB Marshawn Lynch run the ball effectively.  While the Packers are 1st in the NFC in pass defense but they are 15th in the NFC for rushing defense.  This means the Seahawks might rely on a heavy dose of Marshawn Lynch.  Seahawks defense on the other hand is solid in run defense but suspect on pass defense.  Look for Aaron Rodgers to air it out tonight and test the secondary.
