Washington Nationals vs San Francisco Giants Free MLB Pick & Odds Tuesday October 7th

Game: Nationals vs Giants

Time: 9:07pm EST

Odds: Nationals -130, 6.5

Wash: Gio Gonzalez (10-10) SF R. Vogelsong (8-13)

The Giants lead the NLDS 2-1 over the Nationals which means this is a must win if the Nationals want to stay alive.  Washington send Gio Gonzalez to the mound Tuesday night and are placing all of their faith in the left handers arm.  Gonzalez was up and down this season but he has finished strong going (3-1, 2.03 ERA) last 4 starts.  Gonzalez has not faced the Giants in 2014.

San Francisco will start Ryan Vogelsong who has not pitched well this season and is (0-4, 5.53 ERA) in September.  Vogelsong has pitched against the Nationals twice this season and is (0-1, 7.15 ERA).

This series has gone Under in each game which is usually the case in most National League playoff games where pitching over shadows hitting.  This series is setting up for a Game 5 showdown in Washington with Gio Gonzalez on the hill tonight.  It’s tough to back Vogelsong in this game as he has struggled with inconsistencies throughout the season.

Take the Under 6.5 in Game 4 of the NLDS.  Playing in AT&T Park is almost but guaranteeing a low scoring game similar to all 3 previous games in this series.  Take a chip bet on the Nationals to push this series back to the East Coast for a Game 5.
