NFC Playoffs - Cowboys vs. Vikings

The red hot Dallas Cowboys take their 4 game win streak to Minnesota to take on Brett Favre and the Vikings.  Dallas had a season turn around when they went to New Orleans and handed the Saints their first loss of the season.  Ever since this game in mid December, Dallas has shown determination and eagerness that has not ever been evident during Tony Romo’s tenure. The Vikings on the other hand were just about written off by many in the media with drama surrounding Brett Favre and head coach Brad Childress.

Many felt that the Vikings had lost their momentum and would lose their season ender to the Giants and leave them with the #3 seed after going just 2-3 the last 5 games of the season.  The Vikings beat the Giants convincingly 44-7 and were rewarded with the #2 seed and a 1st round bye.  Now they have to deal with the latest team to break out of the NFC and ride a hot streak.

The Vikings are undefeated at home and the Cowboys have played their last two games at home vs. the Eagles who suddenly lost their offense and couldn’t keep their defense on the side lines long enough to catch their breath.  The Cowboys clicked at the right time in the season and fought hard to win the NFC East and clinch a 1st round home game.  Now they have to keep their momentum heading to Minnesota who is well rested.

The Vikings are listed as -3 favorites heading into Sunday with the Total set at 45.5 at most books.  It will be very difficult for the Cowboys to stop Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson and for their offense to run the ball against the Vikings D.  I get the feeling the Vikings will walk away from this game a winner by a margin of more than a  TD.
