MNF Carolina Panthers vs. Dallas Cowboys Odds & Predictions

The Carolina Panthers head to Dallas to face the Cowboys for some Monday Night action.  The Panthers are 0-2 to start the season and the Cowboys are coming off a loss to the Giants on their home/stadium opener last week.  The Cowboys are -9 point favorites (Bodog) and the Over/Under set at 48.

Carolina’s Jake Delhomme has struggled beginning in last season’s final playoff game which has over lapped into the start of this season.  Delhomme has thrown 1 TD to 5 INT’s to start the ‘09 season giving him a QB Rating of 45.3.  The Panthers will hope to get their run game going with the help of Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams to help ease the woes of the passing attack.  Delhomme has won three of his past four starts on Monday Night Football and the Panthers are 8-0 when Williams rushes for 110 yards or more.

The Cowboys (1-1) lost to NY Giants 31-33 at home in Week 2.  Tony Romo has been a lightning rod for criticism throwing up 3 INT’s and a fumble which led to 24 points for the Giants.  The Cowboys have a very talented team and will try to avoid a 0-2 start at home.  Costly mistakes and sloppy play have prevented them from starting 2-0.

This should be a competitive game and a lot closer than the 9 points released by Vegas.  If Tony Romo and Jake Delhomee can find their stride we should see some points scored.  This is a “must win” for both teams but we look for Dallas to win a close game.
