Well believe it or not, Michael Vick was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as they made it official yesterday, August 14th.  If you’re like most of us you are asking yourself, what the…?  Now why would Philly take a chance on Vick anyway? It appears the backup quarterback, Kevin Kolb, is hurt. Kolb has a sprained MCL and was originally listed day to day but we all know an MCL injury could take a while. Big Deal, you say?  Yeah, but you have to put the whole situation into context. Donovan McNabb is the starting quarterback in Philly, in spite of the fans and management’s love hate relationship with him and Donovan has a history of playing great, but also of having late season serious injuries.

The Eagles signed Vick to a two-year deal worth $1.6 million in the first year and an option for a second year at $5.2 million.  Now Vick has been out of the league for 2 years so it may take him a while to get back in the groove but when he does it could become a sticky situation in Philadelphia. 

For all of you dog lovers out there or just humane people, we are sure you still are disgusted with his actions.  This may take a while for the Philly fans to accept and corporate sponsors for that matter.  But what happens if Michael Vick returns to form and shows a sense of maturity and proves that he can once again do great things on the field as well as off the field?  Well let me tell you that there is no greater city to do this because winning cures all and for a team who has been sniffing the Super Bowl for recent years, Philly is desperate for a championship.  This younger talented team could possibly be inherited Michael Vick sooner than people may think.  Is this another slap in the face to McNabb?
