San Diego plays host to the 2009 Poinsettia Bowl which highlights an interesting matchup between to West Coast teams.  It has been rumored that Jahvid Best will not play due to a concussion suffered a few weeks back.  Cal was thought to compete for the Pac 10 title after starting the season at 3-0.  It was an up and down season for Cal going 8-4 but suffered a blow out loss to Washington 42-10 in the last game of the season.

Utah finished the 2009 season at 9-3 beating then ranked #19 BYU in over time their last game of the season.  While Utah may not have had as tough a schedule as Cal, they are still ranked in the top 25.  Utah’s only faced two ranked opponents this year winning vs. BYU and losing to TCU 55-28.  Utah’s schedule this year is nothing to brag about so Cal should give them a tough test.

Utah: 22-3 SU in their last 25 games
Utah: 3-1 ATS in their last 4 games
Utah: The total has gone UNDER in 7 of their last 9 games

Cal: 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games
Cal: 11-4 SU in their last 15 games
Cal: The total has gone UNDER in 4 of their last 5 games

Both teams have won 4 straight bowl games and there is a reason that Cal is favored by -3.  They are playing in their home state and it’s hard to believe that Cal will lose 2 straight to finish out the year.  Cal has a lot of seniors playing their final game and Utah has only been tested a couple times by tough teams.  Look for Cal to squeeze out a winner here.
