Ole Miss vs South Carolina College Football Predictions & Betting Odds
Ole Miss travels to South Carolina Thursday night for an SEC showdown scheduled to air on ESPN. Ole Miss heads into Thursday’s game ranked #4 in the nation but will have a tough test facing the Gamecocks stingy defense. The ole ball coach will undoubtedly have his team ready as they are home dogs in tonight’s SEC match up. Bodog has the line set as the Ole Miss Rebels -4 point favorites and the Over/Under set at 53 points.
This should be the Rebels first real test of the season and some experts feel Ole Miss is over rated with their current ranking and that an upset is on the horizon heading into SC. Williams-Brice Stadium will be electric in front of this national audience, as if it wasn’t enough that 2 SEC opponents were going head to head.
Houston Nutt has turned the Ole Miss program around and led his team to a Cotton Bowl victory last year against Texas Tech. The Rebel’s QB Jevan Snead is a Texas transfer who sat behind Colt McCoy. Snead has a nice supporting cast with running back Brandon Bolden rushing for 88 yards per game and WR Dexter McCluster snatching nine balls for 113 yards and a touchdown. Mississippi’s defense can be described as opportunistic. The secondary has returned an interception for a touchdown in three straight games. The Rebels will be shooting for their first 3-0 start to a season since 1989 on Thursday night and have won their last four games in South Carolina.
Home teams Home teams seem to get an added boost on Thursday nights knowing they are the showcase game and underdogs have faired extremely well in this situation. Games between these two teams have generally been decided by a field goal or less and we expect nothing less than tonight’s premier match up.

This game’s tempo was set by the Gamecocks. They have a tough test tomorrow night vs. Alabama. SC on the road going against one of the best teams in the country. Look for Alabama to take control of this game in the second half and get the win at home.
