Friday Night in Fresno - #10 Boise State vs. Fresno State
Friday night brings us a great WAC in-conference game when the No. 10 Boise State Broncos roll into Fresno, California to take on the Bulldogs. Boise State comes in with a 2-0 record while Fresno State stands at 1-1 with a tough overtime road loss last week in Wisconsin. Oddsmakers currently have the Broncos as 7-point favorites at Fresno, which makes since considering Boise State has pretty much dominated in recent years.
The Broncos enter this game as the clear favorite and had their way with Fresno State last year winning 61-10. Boise State is once again the favorite to represent the WAC and have high expectations of reaching a BCS Bowl game. Boise State has won 7 of past 8 games vs the Bulldogs and Fresno State has lost nine straight against ranked opponents.
Fresno State is looking to rebound after a tough double overtime loss to Wisconsin in Madison last Saturday. While there was talk about Wisconsin’s team being struck by the swine flu, the Bulldogs still played well enough to keep themselves in the game and gain respect around the nation.
Boise State holds the matchup edge in this game with Kellen Moore getting the nod over inexperienced Fresno QB Ryan Colburn. The good thing about this matchup is that how teams are portrayed on paper isn’t always how they play out in real time. Most books have Boise State -7 and the O/U set at 54.
