College Football Odds - Boise State vs Tulsa

Boise State travels to Tulsa to take on the up and coming Golden Hurricanes.  Boise State once again is the most talked about non-major conference team and deservedly so.  The Broncos have had success in big games against major conference foes and have proven they belong in the talk of the best teams in the country.

The Broncos of Boise State have a great sophomore quarterback in Kellen Moore. Moore has shown great efficiency and the ability to take of the ball and lead a football team. It isn’t all just about the passing game though, as the Broncos have two very talented speedsters out of the backfield in Jeremy Avery and DJ Harper. Both of their star running backs are averaging more than 6 yards per carry. Though the offense is definitely the strongest point, the defense isn’t shabby at all either. The Boise State defense is holding opponents to just 14.4 points per game so far this season. If there is one weakness it would be in the run defense, where Fresno State exposed a potential weakness that other teams might try to exploit.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricanes have been a successful team over recent years but simply unable to get on the national radar.  Tulsa is known for their explosive offense capable of throwing up 40-50 points during any given game.  This year Tulsa has made great improvements on their defense not allowing more than 13 points per game with the exception of the game vs Oklahoma.

Bodog has the line set at Boise State -9.5 with the Over/Under near 55.  This should be a test for the Tulsa defense against the Boise State offense.  Both teams will try their hands at the running game with hopes of softening up the defense to proceed with an air attack.  Look to the Documented Handicappers for tonight’s insight.

Quality Wednesday night game, I was hoping for a late TD from Tulsa to tie but no such luck. Either way it appears that Boise State might have lost a chance at a major BCS bowl with that play.
