2010 BCS National Championship Notes & Odds
The #2 ranked Texas Longhorns are in Pasadena to take on the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Most online books have Alabama favored by -3.5 with the Total set at 46.
Texas and Alabama are both 13-0 and look to finish on an undefeated season and a National Championship. Texas is just 5-7-1 ATS while ‘Bama is 8-5 ATS. Now when Texas has been an underdog of 4 points or less they are 7-3 SU and 7-2-1 ATS. Both teams will showcase some magnificent talent such as Colt McCoy, Mark Ingram, Greg McElroy, Julio Jones, Earl Thomas and so many others that will go on and eventually have bright futures in the NFL.
I like to take the points in this game as I am not sincerely doubting Greg McElroy but I feel Colt McCoy has paid his dues and taken the back seat to Tebow and Bradford. It’s his year and a victory tonight would make him 4-0 in bowl games. The only other QB to go 4-0 in bowl games is Pat White in 2008. If Colt McCoy finds a way to win tonight’s ball game that would give him 4 bowl wins, a national championship and a lot of accolades throughout his 4 year career at Texas. It would be tough not to throw him into the argument as one of the best and most accurate college QB’s of all time. Not to put any pressure on him…
This will undoubtedly be an exciting National Championship to watch or wager. Alabama is such a well rounded team and present so many problems for opposing teams. Nick Saban is one of the greatest college football minds around today and he WILL have his boys ready to play.
Big 12 vs. SEC. Saben vs. Brown, McCoy vs. McElroy, Ingram vs. Newton, Jones vs. Shipley. We could go on and on with either side of the ball. Either way you dice it folks it could be one for the ages. A la Vince Young. Game starts 8pm EST so get with your Documented Handicapper for the insight.

Just found this blog and thought I’d sound off. This was a great National Championship game and although I was pulling for the Longhorns either team was plenty deserving. Alabama won me over with their powerfull running game, but I was most impressed with Garrett Gilbert the backup quarterback for UT. I couldn’t believe that he’s a true freshman and was able to play as well as he did under those circumstances. All things aside it was another stellar season and i’m looking forward to next season.
